sry for you not keeping up-to-date, but time was a valuable resource in vegas  and I didn’t want to waste my time in front of my computer. I’m already back 2 weeks in germany now, but when I came back a LOT of work was waiting for me that I couldn’t find any time spending on my page. but now we’ll get to that
After my last blog entry I played the 3k triple chance and a 2k Venetian extravaganza tournament. to make things short, busted in both tourneys at the end of day1, obviously not cashing. Anyway, I was pretty satisfied with my play though, thats what matters in the long run.
After the 3 tourneys the fun part started for me. What we did was pretty much chilling, shopping and partying the last 3 days I had Tim took me to 3 different malls on 3 different days (btw the best guy if you want to go shopping, he’s pretty much a shopping-guru and knows probably every place in vegas , chilled a little at the pool, went to nightclubs and watched the world cup game Germany-Argentina which was, obviously,  pretty awesome we did manage to wake up in time (6.30am!) somehow (which was pretty hard after the tao-night) and went to the Hofbräuhaus (yeah, i know, not the place to go when your from germany but what can you do ^^) but with all germans there was a great temper especially after the first goal.

to make it short, I busted in the last 3levels of day1. to summarize things up, the field is prettaaaaaaaay baaaad, I played very well but ran not too great as usual. To the key hands:

as the table played very tight/passively, I was able to play very loosely and dominated the table for quite some time. Then I got in a super nice spot w AA where my opponent on the BU squeezes vs my hijack open+CO call. I almost min4bet to give him the illusion of fold equity and we managed to get our whole stacks in pre with AA vs QQ (I had him slightly covered), my Aces held and I was up to 4x starting stack in the 2nd blind level. WIth a bigstack I was able to pt a ton of pressure to my opponents, and since there were just 2 good players at my table I continued to accumulate chips to 25k-ish (4,5k starting stack). Then THE key-hand occured in the 4th level when I 3bet a mid-pos. open what I’ve been doing with a very high frequency with black Kings and get A huuuuuge cold4bet jam by a donkey with about 22k stacks. (blinds were 100-200 w antes, so I 3b to like 1,8k and he jams for ~22k) I mean, I wasn’t too happy calling but obv I did and got shown ATs. WTF. flop T82r, turn A, river blank. So I was down to like 3k and had to play push-or fold – somehow i managed to double via suckout with A4 vs 99 where I repushed a late pos open. since then nothing really happened until the final hand where I had like 13k at 150-300 blinds. UTG (active, semi-good-ish player, coveres me) opens as he was doing frequently, and I flat w AJs on the Button. fish overcalls ootb, flop comes A47r, it checks through. turn total blank, he leads for 2/3 pot, i call, fish folds. river pairs the Ace and after his check I bet 2/5 pot, he check-shoves…and I hate life. Guess I have no choice but to call, especially when i bet so small – and he shows me AQ. busto.
anyway I’m more than happy how I’ve played, my NLHE play isn’t rusty at all and I’m looking for the $3k triple chance tomorrow. I’ve also played some PLO-cashgame yesterday and I’m up slightly ~1,5stacks. Since the games are unbelievably soft you might see me play cg instead of tourneys when I bust tomorrow. otherwise we’re going to play the 2k venetian tourney on wednesday, and after that we’ll be switching to the party-mode
On Thursday we have the Tao planned and saturday will be the XS-day, we might head directly to the soccer match then at 7am.

after a pretty exhausting 16-hour flight via chicago I finally arrived in vegas yesterday and got a warm welcome by tim who even cooked me a small dinner dish Since the soccer game today takes place at 7am, we went to bed pretty soonish, I was pretty tired anyway. But thx to jetlag it wasn’t tough to get up early, actually it’s 4am right now
we’re going to watch this game at a hofbräuhaus here in vegas, pretty weird for the 1st day but hey, I’m pretty looking forward to meet all my friends again!

tomorrow I’ll kick off my  wsop schedule by playing the 1,5k NLHE event, updates will follow!

As I mentioned in previous entries last weekend we had the “Deutsche Hochschul Meisterschaft” in Artistic Gymnastic, this year held in Stuttgart. We were all excited to party hard over the whole weekend and alongside to do some gymnastics Fortunately, my competition was on Friday afternoon that I didn’t have to care about my physical/mental state on the following days (some Athletes had warm-up on Saturday, 6:30; literally midnight)
Although I wasn’t totally satisfied with my performance, as a team we did a great job and somehow we managed to win this whole thing! now we even had another reason to party, and so we did Despite they had to perform on Saturday our other teams performed well also and overall we had great results with one 1st place, one 2nd and some of us also starting in the apparatus final. As always, everybody’s spirit was quite high-tension  and the atmosphere was amazing, esp at the apparatus final. After that a big party was held bringing us all together, for many people a reunion once a year. Met so many people again you see only once or twice a year, and we all had a blast together
All in all an amazing event as usual and I’m already looking forward for the DHM next year!
